However, for a business blog to be successful, the following mistakes need to be avoided:

  1. Not having a business blog is the first problem for a company with a website. Even worse, those that have started one, but didn’t continue. People like to see that you are consistent and take pride in helping and educating the community. Also, it looks great to the consumer when they can come back often for new updates on your blog.
  2. Don’t be too formal. Formal blogging often times turns people away. You are likely to lose attention if there is too much corporate jargon because it is less informative to the everyday reader and harder to understand.
  3. Don’t sell to much. When you are selling, people won’t keep coming back for more. They already know what you sell and what you offer, but when you are giving them valuable info to live by, that’s when they will keep coming back for more.
  4. Use images. A picture is worth a thousand words. Add one to your post!
